Car raffles are a popular way to raise money for schools, charities and the like in need. People are often willing to buy tickets from these sweepstakes for expensive items such as a car, especially if the process is conducted for a good cause. A new car is something that attracts attention. Create a raffle like that by publicizing people's chances of winning it a lot and selling a lot of tickets.
Steps
Step 1. Choose a car to raffle
Choose a luxury car that people "dream" about, like sports cars or items from well-known brands, like Mercedes; thus, you will have more chances to sell tickets.
Partner with a major dealership. If the raffle is to benefit a charity, try to get a car donation from that company -- so that all tickets sold benefit the intended cause. Offer free advertising to the dealership and say that you will promote it on materials used during the campaign
Step 2. Create rules (such as qualifying from a minimum age, whether the winner must live in the city or state where the draw will take place, etc.)
) and give responsibilities to the person drawn -- such as taking care of taxes. List people or entities that do not qualify for the raffle, such as employees of the dealership that offered the vehicle.
Step 3. Print the tickets
Include in them the name of the organization promoting the raffle, the individual or dealership that offered the vehicle, the time, date and location of the draw, and the price of each item.
Step 4. Publicize the raffle
Post posters and advertise in local newspapers, on television and on radio stations. Send emails, create a website and mobilize local media. Get all the attention you can get.
Step 5. Sell the tickets
Prices can vary from R$40.00 to R$10.00, depending on the value of the car. Think about how much money you expect/need to raise and how many tickets must be sold for the draw to be worthwhile.
- Recruit volunteers for ticket sales. Mobilize as many people as possible to sell the items to friends and relatives, as well as co-workers and customers.
- Set up sales booths. Ask for permission from grocery stores, malls and other areas where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic -- where you can stop to buy tickets. Use car images and information about the cause behind the raffle.
Step 6. Make the draw
Put all the tickets in a large container and ask someone -- like a local celebrity -- to pick one. Make this event fun with food and entertainment and invite the people who bought tickets. Find a spacious place like the dealership showroom. Invite members of the media to take photos and post stories about the giveaway winner.
