Method 1 of 6: Finding the Destination Number

Step 1. Understand the meaning of this number

The destination number is considered the most important among the main numbers. It shows an outline of life's potential, the path you will follow, and the reasons that will shape it. The final choice to deviate from this path that the number teaches is yours, but in numerology it is believed that the most satisfactory option is to follow the route traced by the number of the destination.

Step 2. Calculate your destination number

To do this, simply add your birth date numbers down to a single digit. However, the method is quite specific. Let's use the date December 17, 1986 as an example. (Note: See section at bottom of page to learn more about each number.)

Reduce the day, month and year to a single number. It is normal to need to do this more than once for some numbers. If so, just repeat the technique until you get just one digit or a master number.
1. Month: 12 = 1+2 = 3
2. Day: 17 = 1+7 = 8
3. Year: 1986 = 1+9+8+6 = 28 = 2+8 = 10 = 1+0 = 1
4. Then add the three numbers, or master numbers: 3+8+1 = 12 = 1+2 = 3.
5. And, in this way, with the example date of December 17, 1986, one arrives at number 3.

Step 3. Don't forget the master numbers

With a lot of meanings, generally indicating great purpose and power, the numbers 11, 22 and 33 are considered masters. When doing the calculation for numerology, the rule is that the month of November (11), as well as the 11th and 22nd of each month, are reduced to 2, 2 and 4 respectively. However, in the case of the destination number, there is an exception.

For example, if the above date was November 17, 1986, the initial reduction would be: 11+8+1 = 20 = 2+0 = 2, where 2 is the destination number.

Step 4. Note that you don't add all the date numbers together, that is, 1+2+1+7+1+9+8+6

Let's say the name is Robert Nesta Marley.

ROBERT = 9+6+2+5+9+2 = 33 = 3+3 = 6
