Read this article to learn how to use Netflix for free. As the first month of subscription is free, you can simply unsubscribe before the end of this period to avoid monthly service charges. However, be aware that using a Netflix account for free for more than a month is illegal, even though it is technically possible to create multiple accounts and get a free month on each of them.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On a computer
Step 1. Open Netflix
To do this, visit https://www.netflix.com/ in your computer's web browser.
Step 2. Click on WATCH ONE MONTH FREE
You will see this button (red color) at the bottom of the page.
- If Netflix is already logged into someone else's account, use another browser or click the profile icon in the upper right corner and then select the option To go out.
Step 3. Click VIEW OUR PLANS when prompted
This option is found at the bottom of the page.
Step 4. Select a plan
As you won't pay for the first month, leave the default plan (Premium) selected, which allows HD broadcasts.
If you plan to pay for the months following the free trial, choose the plan that's best for your pocket
Step 5. Scroll down and click CONTINUE
You will see this button at the bottom of the page.
Step 6. Click CONTINUE when prompted
Once this is done, you will be taken to the account creation page.
Step 7. Enter an email address and password
Enter a valid email address in the upper text field. Then enter the password you want to use to access your Netflix account in the lower text field.
Step 8. Click CONTINUE
This button is located at the bottom of the page.
Step 9. Select a payment method
Typically, you will see three options: credit card, debit card and debit card (only for Bradesco or Caixa customers).
In addition to the payment methods mentioned above, you can also use a Netflix prepaid card
Step 10. Enter payment information
Even though the first month is free, you will need to enter the details of a payment method in order for the subscription to be billed in subsequent months. If you have selected the credit card option, for example, you will need to provide the card number, cardholder name, security code and expiration date.
If you have selected the debit account option, you will need to provide your name, surname, CPF and the name of the bank
Step 11. Click START SUBSCRIPTION
You will see this button at the bottom of the page. Once this is done, your subscription will be effective and you will be able to use Netflix for free for one month.
Step 12. Cancel your subscription before being billed
Allow to cancel your subscription a few days before the renewal period (when the subscription is one month old) to get the most out of the free period. To cancel, perform the following procedures:
- Go to https://www.netflix.com/ and log in to your account.
- Select your account if necessary.
- Mouse over your profile icon in the upper right corner and click Account in the dropdown menu.
- click in Unsubscribe in the upper left corner of the page.
- click in I want to cancel on the left side.
Method 2 of 2: On Mobile Devices
Step 1. Open Netflix
To do this, tap the app icon, which is made up of a red "N" on a black background.
Step 2. Tap WATCH ONE MONTH FREE
You will see this button at the bottom of the screen.
- If Netflix is already connected to someone else's account, tap ☰ and select the option To go out (you may need to scroll down) to log out. Then tap the link WATCH ONE MONTH FREE on the main page.
Step 3. Tap VIEW OUR PLANS
Once that's done, you'll be taken to a screen that displays the subscription plans available on Netflix.
Step 4. Select a plan
As you won't pay for the first month, leave the default plan (Premium) selected, which allows HD broadcasts.
If you plan to pay for the months following the free trial, choose the plan that's best for your pocket
Step 5. Tap CONTINUE

- On an iPhone, you must enter your Apple ID or Touch ID to confirm your subscription via iTunes.
- Even though the first month is free, you will need to enter the details of a payment method in order for the subscription to be billed in subsequent months.
Step 11. Tap START SUBSCRIPTION
This button is located at the bottom of the screen. After touching it, your subscription will be effective and you will be able to use Netflix for free for one month.
Step 12. Cancel your subscription before being billed

Tips
If you don't want to pay the full amount of a Netflix account, ask a friend to share their account with you in exchange for paying part of the monthly fee

- Ripping a paid service to get it for free is illegal.
- Depending on the case, using a friend's Netflix account could be a crime. Always keep an eye on the latest Netflix Terms of Use to ensure you are not breaking the law.
- You cannot use the same payment method on a different account. Because of this, you will need to select a different payment method if you are creating a new account to get one month of free access.
