This article will teach you how to share images from your computer in a Discord message or chat channel. You can upload images using the desktop app or the web version.
Step 1. Open Discord
On Windows, it can be found in the "Windows" menu. On Mac, find it in the "Applications" folder in the Finder.
- If you don't have Discord installed yet, download it from https://discord.com/download. You can also use the web version by accessing https://discord.com/app in a web browser and logging in with your credentials.
Step 2. Open a server
Servers are listed by their initials or icons in the left-hand panel. Click on the one containing the conversation you want to post the image to.
Step 3. Open a conversation
You can post images to a text channel or direct message with another person. To open a conversation, say the following:
click on one of the channels listed under "Text Channels" in the left-hand menu. They have a hashtag (#) next to their names.
to send a direct message to another user, first find them in the conversation or user list in the right-hand pane. Then right-click on his username and click Message.
Step 4. Click on the
Plus sign in a circle to the left of the message bar at the bottom of the screen.
Doing so will open your file browser, allowing you to access your computer's content.
Step 5. Navigate to the file you want to upload
You may need to navigate to the folder where it is saved. Do this using the file browser. Click on folders to open them.
Step 6. Select an image file and click Open
When you click on the file, it will be highlighted. Then click on Open in the lower right corner of the screen to send it.
Step 7. Enter a comment (optional)
If you want to add a message to the post, do so in the "Add a comment" field. You can write what you want on the photo or add a caption to it.
Step 8. Click Submit
This purple button can be found in the lower right corner of the window in the center of the screen. Then the image will be sent in Discord and will appear in the direct message or chat channel.
