Emailing photos on a smartphone is pretty easy. Generally, you need to use two applications: an email client and a photo gallery. If you are using an Android phone, you can use the "Gmail" and "Photos" apps (or any other picture gallery app you use). On iPhone, you will use the "Mail" and "Photos" apps.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Sending Email on Android
Step 1. Make sure the photo you want to upload is saved on your phone
Open all controls by tapping the white arrow in the lower left corner of the screen. Tap "Gallery" and open the photo.
Step 2. Tap on the sharing option and choose the desired email client
This function has an icon of two small arrows with a circle between them. When you tap it, you will see different options depending on the number of digital accounts created on the phone.
Digital accounts include email and social media accounts
Step 3. Select the photos you want to upload
After choosing an email option, you should be redirected to the browsing screen among the phone's photos. Select the images by gently tapping on the ones you want to send.
- Images that were not taken by the phone's camera, such as those downloaded from the internet or received via bluetooth, may be saved in a folder called DCIM. Unless you have changed the setting, photos taken by the device itself will be saved directly in the "Photos" app.
- You can send multiple images by selecting all of them consecutively.
Step 4. Tap the "Next" button after choosing the desired photos
This will load the photos to a new screen, where they will be attached to an email message.
Step 5. Compose the message and send the email
By tapping the appropriate fields, enter the recipient's email address and write a message if you like. It is also possible to add a subject.
When entering the email address, save time by clicking the ".com" button
Method 2 of 2: Sending Email on iOS
Step 1. Open the "Photos" app and find the images you want to email
This app has an icon of a flower in different colors. Navigate through the photos by swiping your finger up and down across the screen.
Step 2. Select photos
Click "Select" in the upper right corner of the screen and click on the photos you want to upload.
If you don't see the "Select" option, try tapping on the photo once. This will display all options
Step 3. Click the share icon and add the photo to the email
This icon is located in the lower left corner of the screen, and looks like a square with two arrows pointing upwards. After touching it, select "Email photos".
- Some iOS versions require you to tap "Next" and "Mail".
- Repeat these Steps until all photos are attached.
Step 4. Compose the email
After clicking the email icon, a new message will appear. Write the body of the email and fill in the "Subject" field.
- If you're using iOS 8 or later, move your cursor to the body of the email, where you would normally write a reminder, information, or any other type of text. Hold your finger in this area until a magnifying glass appears. Release your finger from the screen and a black menu should appear with the options "Select" and "Select All".
- To the right of the black bar, press the right pointing arrow. The options "Quote level" and "Insert photo or video" should appear when pressing the arrow. Tap "Insert photo or video".
Step 5. Add contacts
Click on the "To:" field if the cursor is not already over it. Enter the recipient's name or email.
- Tap the contacts icon on the right side to add a recipient directly from your contact list. This option has a blue circle icon with a blue plus sign.
- Continue to add contacts in the "CC/CCO" fields if necessary.
Step 6. Send the email
After attaching the photos, select the "Upload" option in the upper right corner of the screen.
Edit the email before sending it to ensure the photos, recipients and message are correct
Tips
- If you have a limited data plan, try uploading photos when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network to avoid extra charges.
- If you're not using a smartphone, use the corresponding keys on your keyboard to open the email app and write your message.
- If you're using a Windows Phone, open the app list and open the "Photos" app. It has a blue square icon with a white square containing a rectangle and a blue dot. Tap on the photo or video you want to upload and click on the share option. This function has a circle icon with a recycling sign. Choose the email option and compose the message.
Notices
- Limit the number of photos uploaded according to your phone's capacity.
- Check recipients before sending the message so as not to send inappropriate content to co-workers.
