Catfish is a popular fish in the southern regions of the United States. Method 1 of 4: Catfish in the skillet

If the catfish's belly is considerably larger than its tail, make two diagonal cuts in it for more even cooking


  • The oil, when too hot, can spill from the pan. Be careful and keep your distance while frying the fish to avoid accidents.
  • Take care with all utensils during preparation and wear gloves to avoid burns.
