Step 2. Add some sparkling water

It is the best and simplest way to make the gin last longer, serving also to add more flavors and take the strength of the drink. You can use it in three ways: putting it in a small amount in the cup; pouring it in equal parts with the gin or pour a lot of gin into the glass and fill the rest with the water.

Another type of mixture is putting gin along with citrus sodas. Good examples are lemon, lemonade, grapefruit and blood orange sodas

Step 3. Add some ginger soda

The combination of gin and ginger is delicious and the easiest way to combine these two flavors is to use ginger-based soda. Fill a tall glass with four or five ice cubes, pour 45ml of gin and fill the rest with the soda.

Step 4. Finish making the gin with citrus

Many gins contain citrus aromas such as lemon and grapefruit, while others have hints of rose, lavender and other flowers, ie floral. Some foreign brands rely on these types of gin: Bloom Gin, Bombay Sapphire (both British) and Hendrick's (Scottish). Citrus and floral gins can be accompanied by citrus fruits, including:

Step 1. Make a Gin Martini or Dry Martini

It's a great way to try out different types of gins and the trick is to make the martini relatively neutral to let the flavors of the gin take the lead in the drink. To make a martini that goes with any type of gin, mix it in a cold shaker and serve in a chilled glass:

  • 75 ml of gin.
  • 30 ml of dry vermouth.
  • A little bit of orange bitters.
  • Five ice cubes.

Step 2. Taste the “Texas Tea”

Not so popular in Brazil, this is a classic cocktail that contains gin, vodka, tequila and rum. To prepare it, take a tall glass and mix 20ml of gin, light rum, silver tequila, vodka, crystal clear orange liqueur, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice and soda (preferably Coca-Cola). Put ice and health!

Simple syrup recipe: Mix 55 g sugar and 60 ml water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Remove the casserole from the heat and let it cool

Step 3. Make a mixture of Caesar with gin

This is a spicy tomato-based cocktail that can be made with gin or vodka. To prepare it, start by covering the rim of a tall glass with celery salt or meat seasoning. Add some ice cubes and put:

  • 60 ml of gin.
  • 180 ml Caesar Mix or Clamate Juice.
  • 3 pinches of Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce.
  • A little bit of olive brine.
  • Juice of half a lemon.
  • Salt and pepper.
  • Olives skewered on a toothpick as a garnish.
