Marijuana tea (Cannabis sativa, also known as hemp) is a comforting treat that conveys a calming effect, perfect for relieving pain or stress. To extract THC, the chemical in marijuana, you must heat butter or other fat with the tea. You can add flavor to the drink by adding common tea leaves to the mix and even make an Indian milk tea (the famous “chai”). If you don't want to make a very strong drink, create a relaxing herbal drink by adding crushed marijuana sprouts to boiling water.
Note: The stronger the herb, the stronger the tea. Be careful not to overuse and avoid driving or operating machines after consumption.”
Ingredients
classic marijuana tea
- 1/2 gram of marijuana.
- 1/2 teaspoon of butter.
- Tea bag (any flavor).
- 1 1/2 cups of water.
- Sugar or honey to taste (optional).
Chai latte with marijuana
- 1/2 gram of marijuana.
- 1/2 teaspoon of butter.
- 1 sachet of chai.
- 1 cup of whole milk.
- 1/2 cup of water.
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
- 2 teaspoons of sugar.
Marijuana Herbal Tea
- 1/2 gram of marijuana.
- 1 cup of water.
- Tea sachets (any flavor).
- Sugar or honey to taste (optional).
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Classic Marijuana Tea
Step 1. Mash the marijuana
Separate stalks and seeds if necessary and use a shredder or chop the marijuana with a sharp knife until it is finely chopped but not completely ground to a powder.
Step 2. Mix the marijuana with butter
Put it in a bowl and use a spoon to mix them together, making sure each piece is covered in butter. They need to be completely covered but not soaked; too much butter will inhibit the release of THC.
Note: If you want a potent hemp tea, you need to extract the THC from the plant. Since the substance is not only soluble in water, a fatty substance is needed to adhere under high temperature. The combination of high temperature hot water and butter fat extracts the THC from the marijuana, allowing you to ingest it
Step 3. Empty a tea bag and refill it with the butter and marijuana mixture
Use scissors to cut the bag and empty its contents. With a spoon, place the crushed marijuana into the bag, then fold it several times to prevent it from leaking.
- If you have a tea infuser, you can use it in place of the bag.
- An alternative is to use a coffee filter: place the marijuana in the center of the filter, then join the ends together and tie them together to form a small bag.
Step 4. Heat the water over low heat
Pour it into a small saucepan and heat it over medium heat so the water doesn't come to a boil.
Step 5. Heat the water with the sachet over a low heat for 30 minutes
Reduce heat if mixture starts to boil. If the water starts to go down, add a little more so that it doesn't evaporate completely.
Step 6. Remove from heat and remove sachet
The tea will be very hot, so be careful and let it cool for five minutes. If you want a flavored tea, add another tea bag of your choice during the last 3 minutes of boiling.
Step 7. Sweeten with sugar or honey to taste and savor
As with most hemp products taken orally, tea takes 45-60 minutes to take full effect.
Note: even with only ½ gram, this tea will create a very strong effect
Method 2 of 3: Chai latte with marijuana
Step 1. Mash the marijuana
Separate the stalks and seeds, if necessary, and use a shredder or chop the marijuana with a sharp knife until it is finely chopped but not completely ground to a powder.
Step 2. Mix marijuana, milk, butter and vanilla
Place ingredients in an electric mixer or blender and blend until completely creamy.
Step 3. Let the mixture sit for an hour
This gives the flavor a chance to blend in.
Step 4. Add water and heat the mixture over a low heat for 30 minutes
Monitor the pan carefully to make sure the water doesn't start to boil or evaporate. Add more water if necessary to keep the liquid level constant.
Step 5. Remove from heat and add the chai sachet
Leave it to steep for five minutes. Meanwhile, the tea will start to cool.
Step 6. Strain the mixture into a fine mesh sieve
Place the strainer (or a piece of gauze) over a bowl and pour the tea to remove the marijuana bits. Skip this step if you don't mind its texture.
Step 7. Pour the tea into a mug and enjoy
Add more sugar or milk to taste. For an even more relaxing drink, add a dollop of whipped cream with a dash of cinnamon.
Note: Even with just ½ gram, this tea will create a very strong effect
Method 3 of 3: Herbal Tea
Step 1. Mince the cannabis
Separate stalks and seeds if necessary and use a shredder or chop the marijuana with a sharp knife until it is finely chopped but not completely ground to a powder.
Step 2. Empty a tea bag and fill it with the butter and marijuana mixture
Use scissors to cut the bag and empty its contents. With a spoon, place the crushed marijuana into the bag, then fold it several times to prevent the marijuana from leaking.

Step 3. Place the sachet in a coffee mug
Add a second regular tea bag if you want to enhance the flavor. An aromatic herbal tea or the famous Earl Gray and Irish Breakfast sachets also serve very well to enhance the flavor.
Step 4. Boil a cup of water
You can do it on the stove or in the microwave.
Step 5. Pour the water into the mug and let the sachet steep for three to five minutes
The longer it stays in the brew, the stronger the flavor of the tea.
Step 6. Remove the sachets and drink the tea
Add sugar, honey or milk to taste.
