A very versatile meat fish, salmon has an intense flavor, compatible with many types of seasoning. Despite being delicious with a seasoning as simple as salt and pepper, the possibilities that are at hand when preparing it are limitless! You can sprinkle the spices separately before cooking or use a pasty spice mix. Furthermore, you can glaze, marinate or use sauces on the meat.

  • Mix fresh, crushed garlic and ginger with a few strands of soy sauce, a few drops of sesame oil, a few drops of rice vinegar and a spoonful of brown sugar. Let the fish marinate for at least two hours.
  • Brown sugar can be substituted for honey if you prefer.
  • You can cook the marinade with the meat, if you're going to prepare it in the pan, or drain it, if you're going to grill it.

Step 3. Create an easy sauce by pouring garlic, lemon juice and butter into foil packets

Use the juice of 1 lemon, 3 tablespoons of melted butter, 2 crushed garlic cloves and ½ teaspoon of salt for every 600g of salmon. Wrap the slices in the packages and cook the fish for 15 minutes at 190 °C. At the end of this period, open the packages to brown the fish for another two or three minutes.

  • You can use a dash of black pepper, oregano, or crushed pepper, depending on your preferences.
  • When making the mise en place, garnish the fish with the sauce accumulated on the aluminum foil and a pinch of chopped fresh parsley.

Step 4. Make the sauce by adding flavored butter at the end

Take the butter out of the fridge and let it soften. Once that's done, add your favorite fresh herbs or spices-say, Cajun or Italian ready-made spice-as well as salt and pepper. After preparation, place a little butter on the salmon, which will melt and give it flavor.

  • You can also use black pepper or some citrus shavings.
  • And you can try using a little bourbon or whiskey with a drizzle of honey or brown sugar.
