Drawing people is, according to some, the most difficult task in all of art. Read on to know the rules for making a face and a person with more realism.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Semi-realistic people
Draw lightly to make something closer to a sketch than a final design. When you have stopped using them, delete them. They are easier to erase while they are light.
Step 1. Create a medium-sized circle at the top of the page
Step 2. Divide the circle in half with a vertical line extending out from its base
Add lines that connect to form the jaw and chin guidelines of the human head.
Step 3. Make three horizontal lines to guide you in the composition of the eyes, nose and mouth
Step 4. Make half moon circles on both sides for the eyes and a small curved line for the tip of the nose
Step 5. Draw realistic human lips below the nose and symmetrically on both sides of the vertical dividing line
Step 6. Also do the eyelids and eyebrows
Step 7. Create a realistic contour shape for the ears on both sides of the head, starting from eye level
Step 8. Draw guidelines for the neck and shoulders
Step 9. Based on the head guidelines, draw the person's hair
Step 10. Erase the sketch strokes and now draw firm, definitive lines
Step 11. Color the realistic human character
Step 12. Apply shadows and highlights to the color as you prefer
Method 2 of 2: Realistic People
Step 1. Create a smaller circle and divide it in half with a vertical line extending beyond its base
Step 2. Make interconnecting guidelines for eyes, nose, mouth and the outline of the jaw and chin
Step 3. Make clear eye shapes using the eye guideline, a realistic vertical nose and lips
Step 4. Draw hair on head with irregular strands falling down on both sides
Step 5. Spread the undulating locks over one of the girl's shoulders
Step 6. Form the shoulders and arms together with the bust to complete the guidelines
Step 7. Add detail to eyebrows and eyes
Also add more small details to the chin region.
