There are two references to fasting in the book of Daniel in the Bible, from which the 'Fasting of Daniel' is derived. Daniel chapter 1 describes how Daniel and his three friends ate only vegetables and drank only water. At the end of a ten-day tribulation period, Daniel and his friends looked healthier than their contemporaries who ate the high-calorie foods of the royal table. In Daniel chapter 10, Daniel fasts again, abstaining from pleasant foods, meat and wine. You too can get a healthier body and a cleaner mind by following this diet fast moderately.
Steps
Daniel's Fast encourages healthy eating. But if you have specific health concerns, make an appointment with a trusted healthcare worker before committing to this 10-day (or 3-week) diet.
Method 1 of 3: Daniel's Fast and His Relationship with God

Step 1. Avoid distractions
This is a sacred time between you and God, so avoid profane radio and television programs.

Step 2. Begin fasting by focusing on your faith
Praise God through sacrifice and love Him more than His gifts.

Step 3. Pray
Your days should be filled with selfless prayers. While fasting, multiply the frequency of your daily prayer by three or more.

Step 4. Spend time with God during the day as you study the Bible

Step 5. Seek the Lord tirelessly for the |answers to your prayers

Step 6. Ask God for guidance in your life
Method 2 of 3: Daniel's Fast, Part I

Step 1. Eat lighter meals for a few days before fasting
It's a particularly good idea to reduce your caffeine intake.

Step 2. In the first book of Daniel, the Prophet ate only vegetables, vegetables and fruits, and drank only water for 10 days
A short list of allowed foods includes:
- All fruits and vegetables.
- All vegetables.
- Cereals.
- Dried fruits and seeds.
- Soy cheese.
- Herbs and Seasonings.

Step 3. On the other hand, there is also a list of foods to avoid
Keep in mind that no artificial or processed foods or chemicals are allowed on Daniel's Fast.
- All kinds of meat and animal products.
- All dairy products.
- All fried foods.
- Solid fat.

Step 4. Read the food packaging carefully
Foods often contain secret ingredients. The food you buy must be in accordance with Daniel's Fast.
Method 3 of 3: The Fast of Daniel, Part II

Step 1. Go to stage two
In book 10 of Daniel, the Prophet made another fast, which lasted for three weeks. Quoting the Bible, Daniel said: “I didn't eat anything tasty; meat and wine I didn't even taste”. The second fast is basically the same as the first, but the text names three specific things to avoid:
- Wine.
- All types of sweeteners (including honey).
- All breads with yeast.

Step 2. Assess how you feel after the two stages
If you feel more energetic and healthy, you will likely want to continue to maintain healthier eating habits. While reintroducing many foods that you did not eat during your fasting into your diet is inevitable, you can do so with greater awareness of portion quality and size. And it's better to eat very little of some things like fried food and sugar.
Tips
- However, be careful not to drink too much water. Too much fluid can be just as bad as not enough.
- Set a time limit for fasting. Maybe you want to continue Fasting longer than you thought.
- If for any reason you eat something you shouldn't eat while fasting, it's better to ask for forgiveness and continue than to stop fasting.
- Keep your diet simple. Avoid processed foods; favor home-cooked or raw foods.
- If you experience weakness or headaches, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. We often don't understand how much our body needs water, especially when fasting.
- You can supplement your diet with a multivitamin.
Notices
- During fasting, you will face temptations. Resist them in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
- When you have finished fasting, eat light meals and gradually return to your normal diet.
