Are you on the first floor and need to arrive on the tenth for a meeting? Don't want the elevator to stop halfway, or are you going to be late? Follow the tips below to get to the floor you want faster and without interruption.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using Codes and Other Methods

Step 1. Press and hold your floor button
In some elevators, just hold the button for the floor you want to speed up the journey. You have to hold down the button until you reach the floor in question.

Step 2. Use the door close button
When entering the elevator, press the close door button, usually represented by two triangles pointing at each other. Keep pressing the button when choosing the floor, as this combination will make the route express.
- This combination typically works on elevators from Otis, Desert and Dover manufacturers.
- Understand that, in some cases, the close door button is just a placebo for impatient people. In this situation, the trick will not work.

Step 3. Cancel other selected floors
In some elevators, it is possible to cancel floors that have already been selected. Do not do this if there is someone else in the elevator, as they will be angry and will likely press the button again. Respect other users of the space.
The simplest method is to press the button again, a technique that works on Mitsubishi Electric elevators. In other brands, such as Fujitec, you have to press the button five times. Another option is to hold the door open button and press the floor button twice

Step 4. Use your feet
Some people claim that it is possible to prevent the elevator door from opening with your foot. Place one foot in the middle of the door to prevent it from opening when reaching the other floors.

Step 5. Ask the condominium or the caretaker for help
If you know the building manager or caretaker, you can request the elevator's secret code for him. You may need to promise that you'll only use the code for good reason, however.
Method 2 of 2: Using the passkey

Step 1. Ask for a copy of the passkey
Having this key guarantees an express ride in the elevator. The building caretaker probably has a copy, and if you're on good terms with him, it doesn't hurt to ask for one yourself.

Step 2. Ask a friend from the fire department
Firefighters usually have master switches that work on most elevators for emergency cases. If you know someone in the business, try to convince them to give you a copy.
Your friend will most likely not want to do this, as distributing a copy of the passkey to a civilian can be dangerous and even illegal. Talk to him and find out if this is even possible

Step 3. Search the internet
Can't find anyone to give you a passkey? Look for one on the internet, on sales sites like Mercado Livre or OLX. Look for all-access keys, which are four-sided and normally work on most elevators.
- Always check city laws to see if it is legal to buy such a key in your city.
- It is important to do research on the model of the elevator (you can find this information inside) when purchasing the key, to ensure that it will work. Otherwise, the chances of you buying a key that doesn't work are great.

Step 4. Use the key
To do this, just insert it into the key hole when entering the elevator. If the key has four sides, you will need to test all of them until it works. With the key in contact, press the desired button to go straight to it.
Notices
- Please understand that the above tips may not work on all elevators. Many people are never able to make an express elevator ride without using a passkey.
- Use the methods taught sparingly, especially in large office buildings, as everyone is busy and in a hurry.
