Having an electric grill is very convenient in and out of the kitchen. In it, you can make sandwiches with hamburgers and melted cheese, among other foods, very easily. Cleaning is not that difficult, but some foods, such as meat, can stick together. To keep it clean, there are a few simple steps you can take, such as removing dirt while the appliance is still hot and cleaning the grease tray with a soapy sponge.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Cleaning a Simple Kitchen Grill
Step 1. After use, unplug it from the wall outlet
Do this to avoid an electrical shock.
Step 2. Let it cool down a bit
The best time to clean is while the appliance is still warm. Let it cool down for about ten minutes.
Step 3. With a rubber spatula, remove excess dirt
Do not use any abrasive tools as this may scratch the sheet surface. Some grills come with a spatula for this purpose, but any one can be used as long as it's a rubber one. Remove excess food from slots.
Step 4. Clean the plates with a damp sponge
Wet a sponge, shake off excess water and run it over the plates. As it gets dirty and greasy, rinse it off. If the grill is very dirty, use a drop of detergent on the sponge.
Step 5. Remove the grease tray and wash it with soap and water
Disassemble the grill, removing the plates and the grease tray. Pour a little detergent on it, and use a damp sponge or cloth to clean the parts.
Step 6. Dry the pieces with a paper towel
With a paper towel, remove all traces of dirt and soap and dry the parts.
Step 7. Place the detachable parts in the dishwasher
Some grills have detachable parts that can be machine washed. In this regard, follow the manufacturer's guidelines.
Method 2 of 3: Cleaning an Electric Grill
Step 1. Unplug it from the wall outlet
Before cleaning the grill, unplug it from the socket and set the "power" switch to the "OFF" position.
Step 2. With a stainless steel brush, clean the grill
Do this while it's still warm.
Step 3. Unhook the grid under the grid
Some electric grills have a grill below the grill. Remove it and, with a rubber spatula, clean off excess dirt and pieces of meat. If necessary, use a washcloth with soap and water.
Step 4. Clean the lid
With a damp cloth (not so wet that it drips), wipe the lid. Never immerse this part in water.
Step 5. Remove the grill and wash it with soap and water
If the barbecue is not too dirty, this step is not necessary. If not, remove them and wash them with a sponge, water and soap. If necessary, pass a stainless steel brush.
Step 6. Thoroughly dry the removable parts
Before putting the grid and grill back in place, dry them well with a tea towel or paper towel.
Step 7. Once a year, do a deep grill cleaning using vinegar and baking soda
Mix 500ml of vinegar and 250ml of baking soda in a garbage bag, put the grill in there. Let it act for a day. The next day, the dirt will be dry and can be easily removed.
Method 3 of 3: Cleaning the Electric Grill in Other Ways
Step 1. Unplug and allow to cool
After using it to roast meat, unplug it and let it cool for about five minutes.
Step 2. Place wet paper towels between the plates
While the grill is still warm, place two or three more layers of wet paper towels on the top grill. Depending on the thickness of the sheets, use more paper towels. The amount should be enough for the dirt to stick to them without tearing them.
Step 3. Close the lid and let the paper towel clean
Wait a minute for the paper towels and steam to clean the grill from the inside. The grease will come off the metal easily.
Step 4. Open the lid and wipe the plates with a cloth
Use a sponge or paper towel soaked with soapy water to clean the parts.
Step 5. Dry the barbecue before using it again
Never turn on a wet electric barbecue, especially around the plug. Before, pass a dry cloth all over it.
Tips
For best results, clean the grill or electric grill right after use
