This article will talk about removing the sender contact from forwarded emails on both computers and mobile devices. Making sure you remove the names and addresses of previous senders before forwarding an email is a matter of security, privacy or courtesy. These instructions allow you to protect your personal information regardless of which email platform you are using.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Taking the Names on a Mobile Device

Step 1. Access your email on your mobile device
The Mail app for iOS and Gmail for Android are the two most common. Setting them up is pretty easy: just enter your email address and password.
- On iOS, the Mail app can be accessed via the button on the home screen. By default, it sits in the dock fixed at the bottom of the screen.
- On Android, the interface varies between brands, but Gmail can always be found in All Apps. The typical home screen button to access this option is a grid icon.

Step 2. Tap the forward button in an open email
The forwarded email will be created with a new format. The content of the email is now part of the text in the composition of your email.

Step 3. Select the text you want to remove
Tap and hold on the area you want to highlight. After a while, a text selector will appear. Tap and drag the tips of the slider until all the text you want to strip is highlighted.

Step 4. Delete the names and email addresses you don't want to appear
Tap the delete key to remove the text.
If you're having trouble using touch to highlight text, you can tap where the last letter of the name or address you want to remove is and hold the delete key until all unwanted text is cleared

Step 5. Forward your email
Enter the recipients' addresses, put a personal message in the email and hit “Send”.
Method 2 of 2: Removing Names on a Computer

Step 1. Click the “Forward” button in the email
The forwarded email will be created and the content of the previous email will now be formatted in text in your message.

Step 2. Select the text you want to remove
Click and drag your mouse cursor to highlight the names and email addresses you want to delete.

Step 3. Remove unwanted text
Press ← Backspace, Delete or scroll to Edit > Cut to remove the text that is selected.
Keep in mind that when forwarding a conversation or a previously forwarded email that names and addresses may appear on multiple lines in the forwarded text

Step 4. Customize and send the email
Add your own message above the forwarded text, enter the recipients' addresses and hit “Send”.
If this message was forwarded to you by someone else, you might want to change the subject of the email. The “From” tag is added to subjects whenever the message is forwarded, which causes the subject line to become cluttered
Tips
- If you delete more than you wanted, don't worry. Before doing anything, go to the menu line above and click on Edit > Undo (On Windows, you can press Ctrl + Z; on Mac, press ⌘ Cmd + Z) to undo the last action you took.
- When forwarding emails to multiple people, use the BCC field to protect the privacy of everyone involved.
